Although I am deeply opposed to the objectification and exploitation of the female body, I love the song "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk." It is subjects such as this and global warming that keep me from true REM sleep.
Harper, on the other hand, is not burdened with the problems of the world. All it takes is a little piano practice to clear her mind and send her into dreamland. Maybe I should consider a baby grand.

Perspective
Today's message at church was on suffering. Although I know very little about true suffering, it was the exact message I prayed to hear. Weird and amazing. The words spoken this morning that I hope to carry in my heart: "Suffering looks different through eternal eyes." Good stuff.

Love-Hate
After taking a short 6 year break, I have reintroduced running into my life. Let me qualify "running." My pace is approximately the same speed as Kingley's medium-fast walk. I love the way I feel after a run, but absolutely hate the first 25 minutes. That's a long time to be miserable. As soon as I get past the initial thoughts of thinking I am literally going to pass out and die, I am good for a while longer. My favorite part is that Lane is so encouraging and continually voices how proud he is of my discipline and consistency. It's only been 1 week but I will gladly take all the praise. Feel free to ask me if I've been running lately but no guarantees that my response will be kind.
Below is Team Murphy. She is my little work-out buddy and main motivation for getting into shape. I'm not sure why she has started covering her face when I take her picture.

The Grass is Always Greener
On the other side of the street. Literally, our neighbors' grass is always greener than ours. At least three of the lots across from us look better than our lot. I don't get it. We do everything right: mow, water, weed & feed. I'll take it up with our yard guy, a handsome Latino looking man with curly black hair. Coincidentally, he is also the father of my child...don't tell my husband.
I'm also the yard guy. This is me last year 9 months prego.

I am Mom
And I love it. After experiencing my first Mother's Day as a mother, it might be my favorite holiday all year. I take my calling to parent Harper Lane very seriously and loved celebrating my role in her life. This year was also special because Harper was dedicated to the LORD at church. So sweet and memorable. Our families came for the occasion and we all enjoyed the service and a great lunch hosted by yours truly.
Getting ready to go to church.
Not loving her outfit.
Having fun with Emmie Kay. Emmie is not having quite as much fun with her.
My handmade gift from Harper. Love it.
The second time I have used my china in almost 5 years.
The perfect ending to a perfect day.

Tubular
Harper made it through her first minor surgery today. Tubes. She did amazing! Minus a little oozing and some major left ear pain (it was way worse than the right), she is ready to take on the world . Way to go, Baby!
Not loving such an early morning.
Not loving the color of her hospital gown.
Waiting after being up all night with world's worst earache.
