At Least It Floats

We took out the boat for the first time yesterday. Other than the motor not working, Kingsley almost drowning, Harper having a 35 minute meltdown, and the sun frying my back, we had a really nice time. Seriously. We made a couple fun memories, and the first few minutes were a blast giving us hope for how fun it will be when all things (gadgets, wires, tubes, and whatnot) are working at their potential. Poor, Lane. He has literally put hundreds of hours into our little water toy. Just a few more tweaks and we will be ocean bound.

I forgot to take a pic yesterday, but it pretty much looks identical to the photo below. Reference here for before pics.

Funny Facey

Although we had a blast at the beach with Little Miss, she was quite a challenge most of the trip. It's scary how much like me she tends to be...a bit of a homebody, content to stick to a routine, and not super "go with the flow." We are both working on being more flexible. Maybe I should go ahead and cancel her order for a new Franklin Covey.

Harper's feisty little attitude has been much more manageable since we got home. For all parties who have witnessed her small meltdowns and tiny fits of rage, here's proof that she is usually a happy baby.

P.S. To any parents of young kiddos who have advice/words of wisdom for consistently and sensitively disciplining/training a 13 month old, I'm all ears. I'm also accepting "specialty" drink recipes. Jk.

Just got in late last night from Grand Cayman. Good food. Good company. Good week.

One in a Million

My bestie from college is moving to Indonesia next week. Although we live thousands of miles from each other right now, Asia feels too far. I definitely have moments of selfishness, but support her completely and trust in God's sovereign plan for her life.

Lisa Michelle Larkin Pierce is possibly the most loyal, consistent, and wise woman I know. She has been a devoted friend for many years and I would do anything for her and her family. I have grandiose dreams that one day our kiddos will be play together as neighbors, but if it never happens, I will make sure my child(ren) know why I call Lisa my best friend. She is just worth talking about.

I love you, Lisa. Indonesia will soon be a richer country.

At my bachelorette party.

It Fits

If Harper was a legume, she would be a butter bean. It just makes sense.
